Annual General Meeting 2008

Author: Jamaica Cricket Association

The Jamaica Cricket Association Limited (JCA) held its seventh Annual General Meeting on Thursday October 23, 2008 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.

One of the major agenda items was the Election of Officers, Board Members and Association Members. The outgoing President, Jackie Hendriks, did not seek re-election. The entire Jamaican Cricket fraternity wished to thank Mr. Hendriks for his many years of service to cricket and we are convinced that he will continue to serve the game. This election saw a very spirited campaign with Ambassador-at-Large, Hon. Courtney Walsh, OJ challenged the incumbent First Vice President, Paul Campbell for the post of President. The contest generated national attention and for the first time in JCA history, the Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) was asked to supervise the election process.  Of the 100 delegates available 97 voted in the Presidency race with Mr. Campbell coming out victorious by a margin of 50 - 47. Congratulations to the new President!  We look forward to the ensuing policies and programs during the next administration.
